Each of the broad themes above lists the charitable causes and related criteria which the Company supports. Click here for details of What the Company does not support.

• Homelessness
  i) funding will only be considered for structured programmes aimed at breaking the cycle of homelessness
  ii) area of operation should be inner city areas
  iii) projects offering temporary outdoor relief will not be funded
  
  
• Causes and effects of social exclusion
  i) beneficiaries should be young people under 25 years old
  ii) projects are expected to be based in deprived inner cities areas. Preference will be given to such projects in inner city London
  iii) projects should be focused on returning young people to education, employment or training
  
  
• Prisoners
  i) preference will be given to projects assisting young offenders
  ii) projects should aim to improve the opportunities for offenders on release or to reduce reoffending
  
  
• Servicemen and women
  i) projects should support injured or incapacitated Ex Services personnel; or
  ii) charities should improve the welfare of Ex servicemen and women, particularly those disadvantaged by need, hardship or distress
  
  
• Welfare, particularly the provision of care or support services to the following beneficiaries:
  i) elderly
  ii) vulnerable people or those disadvantaged due to poverty
  iii) carers, particularly young carers
  
  
• Disability
  i) projects should ease the lives and reduce the suffering of disabled people or those suffering long term ill health
  ii) support will be focused on less visible disabilities such as hearing impairment, dyslexia, mental health, chronic fatigue syndrome
  iii) applicant charities should seek to improve the quality of life for adults with less visible disabilities
  iv) charities addressing children's disabilities, physical disabilities or medical conditions will not be funded
  

• Outreach programmes
  i) in particular encouraging young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to continue or further their education
• Leadership and volunteering
  i) either in the UK or overseas and as part of a structured programme
  ii) applications from individuals will not be considered
• Promotion of the learning of science

• Projects falling under the Company's other themes for support in the area of historic involvement for the Drapers' Company, particularly in and around Draperstown and Moneymore

• Support for the preservation of the nation's heritage and the provision of public access to the arts and heritage, particularly in Greater London, in one of the following areas:
  i) City of London and the Mayoralty
  ii) museums, memorials and monuments related to former exploits of the armed forces, the history of London or the textile trade
  iii) public access to the arts for young people
